Come be creative with us this spring.

Do you feel the pull to write, but find it hard to do on your own?

You’re in the right place! The fun begins on February 12th, 2026.

Pen + Presence is a 4-month creative writing journey designed to help you slow down, tune in, and reconnect with your inner voice—without pressure, performance, or perfection.

This is not a traditional writing class.

It’s a space to
be… and let creativity flow from there.

Over the course of 10 in-person gatherings, we’ll meet in a cozy, supportive circle to explore writing as a practice of presence, courage, and self-connection. You’ll be gently guided with prompts, but always encouraged to follow what feels most alive and aligned for you in the moment.

Some days you may write multiple pages.
Some days you may sit quietly and breathe.
Some days you may surprise yourself with what comes through.

All of you is welcome.

What This Experience Is

Pen + Presence is for anyone craving:

  • A consistent creative practice without pressure

  • A safe, supportive community

  • Permission to write imperfectly—or not at all

  • Space to reflect, explore, and play

  • A slower, more intuitive way of creating

Creativity takes courage—and it’s so much easier to feel brave in community.

What to Expect Each Session

Each 90-minute gathering follows a gentle, grounding flow:

  • Arrival + intention setting

  • Time to tune in and choose what form of expression feels right that day

  • Spacious, uninterrupted writing (or stillness)

  • Optional sharing and reflection

You are never required to share your writing. Listening is participation. Presence is enough.

How You Can Express Yourself

You’re invited to explore creativity in whatever form feels most aligned:

  • Fiction or non-fiction book/short stories

  • Poetry or song lyrics

  • Letters (to yourself, someone else, or a version of you)

  • Blog posts, scripts, or dialogues

  • Children’s stories or imagined futures

  • Journaling

There is no “right” way to do this.

Connection Between Sessions

We’ll stay connected through a private WhatsApp group throughout the entire journey, offering gentle encouragement and continuity—so even if you miss a session, you’re still part of the circle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a writer to join?
Not at all. This space is for beginners, experienced writers, and people who don’t even consider themselves writers. If you feel curious, called, or creatively stuck—you belong here.

What if I miss a session?
That’s okay. Life happens. We stay connected through a private WhatsApp group throughout the entire journey, so you’ll still feel part of the circle even if you can’t attend every meeting.

Will I be required to share my writing?
No. Sharing is always optional. Listening is a valid form of participation. You’re welcome to share a piece of your writing, reflect on your process, or simply be present.

What should I bring?
Bring whatever you like to create with—journal, laptop, iPad, phone, or voice recorder. Comfortable clothes are encouraged. Cafe Arts has a beautiful, cozy atmosphere that supports settling in.

What if I sit there and nothing comes out?
That’s part of the practice. Stillness, reflection, and simply being with yourself are just as valuable as writing. There is no pressure to produce anything.

Is this more like a class or a circle?
It’s much more of a circle. You’ll receive gentle prompts and structure, but the focus is on presence, exploration, and personal process—not critique, instruction, or performance.

What kinds of writing will we do?
You’re invited to explore poetry, stories, letters, blog-style writing, dialogue, scripts, or even no writing at all. You’re always encouraged to follow what feels most aligned for you that day.

Is this a therapeutic group?
While the space is supportive and often deeply meaningful, Pen + Presence is not therapy. It is a creative and reflective practice centered on self-connection and expression.

How many people will be in the group?
Group size is intentionally kept intimate to create a safe, grounded, and connected experience.

If this feels like a yes in your body, trust it.
