A 10-Week Creative Writing Journey

January 14 – March 25, 2027 | Sarasota, FL
Thursdays | 10:00–11:30 AM

“It became the beginning of a book I never would have started otherwise.”
— Alissa

Do you feel the pull to write?

Maybe there’s a story inside you. An idea. A book you keep thinking about. A poem. A memory. Or maybe you don’t know what wants to come out yet—you just know you want to find out.

And then you sit down to write and suddenly there’s laundry to fold, an email to answer, a dog who desperately needs your attention, or a blank page staring back at you.

I so get it.

That’s why I created Pen + Presence.

Pen + Presence is a 10-week creative writing journey designed to help you slow down, tune in, and reconnect with your inner voice—without pressure, performance, or perfection.

This is not a traditional writing class.

There are no grades. No red pens. No one telling you how your story should sound.

It’s a space to be—and to discover what happens when you give yourself permission to create from there.

Over the course of ten intimate, in-person gatherings, we’ll meet in a cozy, supportive circle and explore writing as a practice of presence, courage, creativity, and self-connection.

I’ll offer prompts to help you get started, but you are always invited to follow whatever feels most alive for you.

Some days you may write multiple pages.

Some days one sentence might crack something open.

Some days you might surprise yourself with what comes through.

All of you is welcome here.

“Pen & Presence was one of the most beautiful experiences EVER!!! 🙌 It was healing and gentle and offered space to create on paper. I highly recommend this!!!!!!”
— Elyse

What This Experience Is

Pen + Presence is for anyone craving:

  • A consistent creative practice without pressure

  • A safe, supportive community

  • Permission to write imperfectly

  • Space to reflect, explore, and play

  • A slower, more intuitive way of creating

  • Connection with like-minded people

  • The courage to listen to your own voice

Because creativity takes courage.

And sometimes it’s a whole lot easier to be brave when we’re sitting beside other people being brave too.

What to Expect Each Week

Each 90-minute gathering follows a gentle, grounding rhythm:

  • Arrive and settle in

  • Connect with the group

  • Explore a theme or writing invitation

  • Spacious, uninterrupted time to write

  • Optional sharing and reflection

You are never required to share your writing.

You can read every word out loud, keep every word to yourself, or decide somewhere in between.

Listening is participation. Presence is enough.

What Will You Write?

Anything you want.

Really.

You might explore:

  • Memoir or personal stories

  • Fiction

  • Poetry

  • Letters

  • Blog posts or essays

  • Song lyrics

  • Scripts or dialogue

  • Children’s stories

  • Journaling

  • The first pages of a book you didn’t know you were going to write

There is no “right” way to do this.

Your writing belongs to you.

Connection Between Sessions

The connection doesn’t end when we leave the room.

We’ll stay connected through a private WhatsApp group throughout our ten weeks together, offering encouragement, inspiration, and continuity along the way.

And if you have to miss a week, you’re still part of the circle.

Wear something comfortable.

Bring an open heart.

And leave your perfectionism at the door. ❤️

This Space Is For You If…

You’ve been saying, I want to write.

Or maybe, Someday I’m going to write.

Or even, I’m not really a writer, but…

You don’t need to call yourself a writer to belong here.

You don’t need a book idea.

You don’t need to be “good” at writing.

And you definitely don’t need to know where any of this is going.

You just need to be curious about what might happen if you gave yourself 90 minutes a week to listen to your own voice.

Because sometimes it begins with a prompt.

Then a sentence.

Then a page.

And sometimes…

“It became the beginning of a book I never would have started otherwise.”

Space is limited, and the circle is intentionally kept small.

If something in you is whispering yes, come write with us.

Your words are already there. Let’s give them somewhere to land. ❤️
